World Environment Day Celebration

Students of Agricultural Science at Medi-Caps
University, Indore took out an environmental awareness rally on the occasion of
World Environment Day (05 June 2023). During the rally, as a future scenario of
global climate change, the public was made aware of the environmental hazards
arising out of rising temperature, untimely rainfall along with increasing
pollution and natural calamities. Specially drew attention to the ban on the
use of plastic and the three \"R\'s\" (Refuse, Reuse and Reduce).
World Environment Day is celebrated all over the
world for the protection and conservation of the environment. It was announced
by the United Nations in the year 1972 to bring political and social awareness
towards the environment at the global level. It was launched following
discussions at the World Environment Conference organized by the United Nations
General Assembly from June 5 to June 16. The first World Environment Day was
celebrated on 5 June 1973. Every year a special theme for the world environment
is announced by the United Nations. The theme for this year has been announced
as Beat Plastic Pollution, which emphasizes on finding solutions to plastic
waste disposal.
On
this occasion, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Dilip Patnaik, Hon’ble Pro
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) D.K Panda, Registrar, Dr Naveen Dhingra, all
Faculty Deans, Departmental Heads, all faculty members, and students took oath
to plant more and more trees and protect them.
