A six-day ATAL Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Robotics and Automation in Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0’ was inaugurated by Prof. I. A. Palani, Dean of Research and Development at IIT Indore. The event was graced by Hon’ble Prof. D. K. Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Medi-Caps University; Prof. D. K. Panda, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Prof. Pramod S. Nair, Dean of Engineering; and Prof. R. K. Shukla, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department. During his inaugural address, Prof. Palani highlighted the growing indispensability of automation in modern civilization, emphasizing its widespread adoption as a necessity for progress. Prof. Patnaik, in his insightful speech, underscored the importance of balancing technological advancements with fundamental human needs and advocated for the integration of technology without compromising societal values. Prof. Panda spoke about the critical need for utilizing technology responsibly and ensuring its safe application for the betterment of humanity. Prof. Nair provided an in-depth overview of the rapid advancements in robotics and automation. He shared statistics to emphasize the importance of staying aligned with these technological trends to remain competitive.
