Educational visit to the Sophisticated Instrumentation Center (SIC) at IIT Indore
We are delighted to announce the successful organization of an educational visit to the Sophisticated Instrumentation Center (SIC) at IIT Indore on March 13, 2024. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Mahesh Dhonde. The primary objective of this visit was to familiarize our Ph D research scholars and Science club students with the wide array of scientific facilities available at the center and to illustrate how these facilities contribute to the advancement of science and technology.
The visit was attended by 22 students accompanied by three faculty members: Dr. Malyaj Das, Dr. Mahesh Dhonde, and Prof. Aditi Jain from the Department of Physics. The experience at the SIC was highly enriching for our students, who had the opportunity to explore various advanced scientific tools, including Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM), Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (CLSM), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR) Spectroscopy, Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectroscopy, UV-Visible Spectrometer, Mass Spectrometry (SOP), High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS-SOP), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS-SOP), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPLC), Gas Chromatography-mass Spectrometry (GCMS-SOP), and many others.
In addition, we also visited the Advanced Functional Materials Research Lab (AFMRG) led by Prof .P. M. Shirage sir.
