Overview
Medicaps University is poised for research in science, engineering, management, and social sciences. The university has already started initiating cutting-edge facilities and is also collaborating with about 100 HEIs. It has experienced faculty, and started collaborations with global universities to foster a thriving advanced research.
Our goal is to provide researchers an ambience that will enable innovative progress while also supporting India's mission of becoming a global knowledge leader.
Dean’s Message
Quality Research is a defining element for a Higher Educational Institution. At Medicaps University, we take immense pride in our Research Activities especially PhD program and the scholars who are a part of it. With over 340 scholars currently enrolled, our program has become one of the most sought-after doctoral programs in Central India. We recognize the importance of creating a stimulating and challenging environment that encourages innovative thinking, fosters intellectual curiosity, and enables our students to excel in their research endeavours.
Our vision is to expand our program by increasing the number of seats to 50 per year, ensuring that we provide a platform for even more scholars to engage in quality research and with possible avenues for merit scholarship. Our aim is to create a community of researchers who will go on to achieve great things and make significant contributions to their respective fields. At Medicaps University, we believe that a PhD degree should be a hall mark of quality with confidence, and we are committed to ensuring that our program lives up to this reputation. Our successful graduates are a testament to the high standards we maintain and the quality of research that our program facilitates. We are excited about the future of our program and the role it will play in shaping the next generation of scholars and thought leaders.
Medicaps University also encourages its faculty by providing Research Promotion Grant (a defined part of Regulations) that include URF (University Research Fellowship ) and Seed Money Projects through which a quality output is accelerated. It has also created an ambience for quality research by encouraging its faculty to carry out collaborative efforts and high-end experiments with Institutes of Eminence like IIMs, IITs, UGC, CSIR and DAE Institutes, as well as other institutes of repute. It supports participation of national and international conferences, conducting high quality conferences of national repute. Over the past three years our university has a record of about 750 Scopus indexed publications that measures roughly one publication per working day, a significant turning point. These efforts have also catalysed for a yield of few crores worth of projects recognised by GoI. Added merit is that our scholars have created a niche area of research at MU as could be seen from their excellent profile enclosed. In essence Medicaps University is poised to become an Institute of Eminence in Central India very soon.

Our Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell assists researchers in filing patents and navigating the legal framework to ensure their innovations are safeguarded. Over the years, our researchers have filed several patents across diverse fields, demonstrating our commitment to contributing unique solutions to global challenges.
Consultancy
Technology Enabling Centre (TEC)
The Technology Enabling Centre at Medicaps University serves as a bridge between academia and industry, facilitating the transformation of research ideas into tangible outcomes. Through TEC, we offer consultancy services that include research and development support, prototype development, and technical solutions tailored to industrial needs. Our goal is to empower businesses and innovators by providing access to academic expertise and state-of-the-art facilities.

Research Projects

Our faculty and scholars undertake projects supported by prestigious national and international organizations. These initiatives span diverse areas, such as sustainability, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and business innovation, showcasing the university’s commitment to impactful and solution-driven research.
IPR Cell
Medicaps University has set up an Intellectual Property Rights Cell (IPRC) at the University to deal with available and growing knowledge wealth in the University. The IPRC will immensely support the rapidly growing activities on IP education and management in this University.
The IPR Cell provides facilitation to person interested in the matter of IPR. The Cell helped protecting innovation and the Intellectual Property. The IP services including Prior-art search report, patentability opinion, drafting patent specification, preparing filing documents, filing application and follow-up, prosecuting the filed application by responding office action, advisory services on various IPR, IP management, reviewing IP policy of the University, organizing various capacity building workshops/conferences on IPR etc.
Objectives
- To create an awareness about IPR for faculties and students of the Institution.
- To impart training on future endeavors regarding patent filing processes, procedure of IPR, screen projects, make drafts and file patents to the competing authority.
- To conduct workshops, seminars and training course on IPR.
- To promote better understanding of IPR.
- To encourage faculty members and students to go patentable works.
- Frame and keep updated IPR Policy of the Institution.
- Communicate the IPR Policy to the various stakeholders and the Inventors of the Institution, students in general.
- Identify prospective inventions, innovations, Service improvement ideas and Copy rights.
- Study and recommend inventions etc for feasibility of converting to patents/Copy Rights.
- Compensate the Inventors with due reward for encouraging inventions.
- To promote technology advancements for improved quality of life and environment protection.
Strategies
- IPR cell shall guide and help the faculty members and students in patentability assessment and to apply for various IPRs such as Invention(s), Designs, Integrated Circuit Layouts and other creative works.
- The faculty members /students desirous of filing a patent or for any other IPR application would be given the necessary advice and guidance by the IPR cell.
- Invention Patent /Trademark and similar documents are to be treated and maintained confidentially by the IPR Cell.
- The IPR cell shall help the inventor in drafting the patent application/ or any other IPR application and filling of relevant forms.
- The draft application along with the relevant forms shall be forwarded to the concerned agency/authority by the IPR cell.
- The IPR Cell shall correspond with the authority/agency and the inventors on IP matters.
- The inventors would be required to cooperate with the IPR cell to expedite furnishing of information for timely actions since delay would mean payment of extra fee to the patent office.
- After filing of the application for IP protection, the inventors shall inform the IPR cell of any further development, if any, in the related R & D work.
