The Department of Commerce was started in the year 2016 and has well qualified and experienced faculty with appropriate infrastructure to meet the quality in education required to meet the challenges in the 21st century. The department has around 60 students. The total intake of students is 60 each in every year. The students are not only trained in academic excellence but also encouraged to acquire industry exposure through in-house training sessions like workshops,seminars and live projects in various areas. Special training like workshops on soft skills equip the students to be industry ready to find the jobs in their interested area. The Department is committed to give the best of exposure to budding students to meet various challenges in real and professional world.Under the guidance of experienced and skilled teachers students are also trained on basic concepts of various subjects and their application in research and industry. Remedial classes are organized for weeker students. At under graduate level students are made to work hard by giving them regular assignments and small projects related with the subject. Thus department prepare students to excel in their career ahead.

He is a dual post-graduate in Management and Law From the prestigious Devi Ahilya University, Indore (M.P.).He has done FDP from IIM (Indore). He was earlier Principal at Atmiya Institute of Technology & Science, Rajkot (Gujarat). He did his Ph.D. in management from IMS, DAVV, IndoreProf. Bapat has a vast teaching experience and his teaching interests are in Marketing, Business Law, IPR’s, and Operations Management etc. He carries his own legal consultancy in company and NI matters.He authored several case studies and research papers on contemporary issues like case study based on the movie ‘Traffic Signal’. Another case study was ‘Fresh Revolution’ based on Reliance Fresh. This case study has received special mention award at IIMC. The case study on Tata’s Nano was selected at Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai it was among top four case studies selected from all over India.He has conducted several workshops and faculty development programs at various management Institutes

A One day seminar was organized by the Department of commerce on “Emerging trends in trade,Commerce and Industry”on 9th September 2016. The speakers were the members of Indian Commerce association. To cope up with the rapid advancement in the technology, the department also organizes industrial visits and educational tours.
